Shenzhen SlkorMicro Semicon Co., Ltd. (Slkor) endeavors to explore the market of NEVs and solar photovoltaic products. As said by Song, “Despite the low demand of Sic MOS on NEVs market at present, Slkor shows a positive attitude towards the development space and market potential of NEVs. Furthermore, the technique of SiC power device manufacturing could also be applied to other new products. For Slkor, the translation of relevant techniques also yields good effect. SiC MOS tube’s market prospect in solar voltage, inverter, charging pile, vehicle-mounted charger, electric motorcycle and high-power wireless charging is huge. These markets pose lower requirements than that of NEVs market but the market potential is large. The 3^rd generation of semiconductor GaN belongs to the same type with SiC, and it sells well in RF switch and fast charging markets with a promising development prospect.”

Mr. Song gave his answer to 11 questions about Slkor’s development history when having an interview with the senior journalist Huang Qingshan from Shenzhen Economic Daily several days ago.

Q6: It was learnt that Slkor set up its direct-sale store at Huaqiang North Commercial Area. How did you make such a decision? What do you think of the key link between Slkor and Huaqiang North, and Huaqiang North’s reputation as “China’s first electronic product block”?

A: Slkor opened its image store at Huaqiang North recently to trade directly and quickly there. What the store to Slkor is what 4S store to an auto factory.The brand image store of Slkor can yield the effects below: firstly, give the most direct and intuitive brand image for customers and finally promote our brand; secondly, enhance our sales volume. The store in Huaqiang North mainly sells MOS tube, diode and transistor, and also provides samples of Hall elements, SiC MOS tube, power manager IC; thirdly, supply goods for customers more quickly and conveniently, we have stored spots goods worthseveral RMB millions there and in the warehouse of Huaqiang North; fourthly, collect the latest market information to know market demand better and provide basis for deciding new product R & D, production and operation. Those are the store’s positioning and it is similar to that of S4 store for auto factories such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche and Lexus.

Hauqiang North Commercial Area is hailed as “China’s first electric product block” so Slkor will be back there after reaching a certain development stage and compete in the fierce competition there. The above poses high requirements for Slkor’s cost control, brand management, supply chain management and logistical support ability. I am destined to meet Huaqiang North, because I first was assigned to Vanguard Department Store (the current site of Yuanwang Digital City) which was a sub-company of Vanke as an engineer, when I came to Shenzhen. Actually I have witnessed the development and transformation of Huaqiang North from industrial zone to a commercial zone. Then I founded Kinghelm and Slkor at Huaqiang North so I have formed a tie with it.

Why does Huaqiang North thrive for so long a time? From the perspective of business, I think it is related to the business model of Huaqiang North. In my studies, “business circle”, “professional market” and “trading center of electronic components” are three important aspects for Huaqiang North, and the great ecology of Huaqiang North derives from those.

“Business circle” is a concept in 1990s, which refers to a business center covering an area of 3-5 square kilometers within 30 minutes’ drive. Such a circle can meet people’s diversified needs of eating, drinking, playing, entertaining, traveling and shopping with their families. Huaqiang North business circle covers Huangmugang, Great Wall Baihualing, Yannan Road, Huaqiangnan Road, Futiannan Road, Gangxia, Tianmian New Village and other large high-end community natural villages and even some faraway places. Huaqiang North Business Circle was once as famous as Luohu's Dongmen International Trade District, which could bring a vast number of visitors to Huaqiang North on weekends. In addition to the electric elements that we already know, Huaqiang North also has many other “professional markets”, such as electronic component market as well as electronic and digital 3C market, mobile phone market, security market, electronic gift market, exported apparel market, smart wearing device market and underground fortress electronics (Mide in sz) market, etc., all of which enrich people’s life in Huaqiang North for each whole day. “Electronic Component Trading Center” is definitely a representative market of Huaqiang North.
