Global Semiconductor Industry updates

1. According to the "Semiconductor Wafer Foundry Industry Status Report" released by Yole Group, mainland China is expected to become the global leader in semiconductor wafer foundry capacity by 2030, accounting for 30% of the world's total installed capacity.

2. Sharp has sold its smartphone camera module business (including SSTEC) to Fullertain Information Technologies Ltd.–BVI, a subsidiary of its parent company Foxconn. The deal is valued at approximately 2.4 billion yen (around $16.6 million).

3. In June 2025, South Korea's export value reached $59.8 billion, a 4.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

4. TrendForce's latest storage chip market report indicates that DDR4 prices may peak and decline in the fourth quarter.

5. Despite the off-season, Kinghelm Electronics (www.kinghelm.com.cn) continues to maintain strong growth momentum, with June performance increasing by over 20% compared to the previous month!

6. Samsung has completed the basic design of its second-generation 2nm GAA node, which will be used for a range of applications, including the mass production of the company’s upcoming SoC chip, Exynos 2700.

China Semiconductor Industry updates

1. To reduce costs and improve efficiency, WPG Holdings has initiated a restructuring, merging Youshang and Pinjia into Quanding. By 2026, the company plans to form a "dual-engine" structure with WPG and Quanding.

2. The construction of the Chipde Technology AI advanced packaging and testing base, with a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan, has commenced. This marks a milestone in the joint efforts between the government and enterprises to build "Nanjing Chip City."

3. Several automakers have released their June car sales data, including: SAIC Motor Corporation, which sold 365,000 vehicles in June, a 21.6% year-on-year increase; and Geely Automobile, which sold 236,036 vehicles, up 42% compared to last year.

4. Sichuan Rural Commercial Bank intends to purchase 1,289 domestic servers, with a budget of 147.98 million yuan, including 1,018 servers with Haiguang chips, accounting for 79% of the total.

5. Ningbo Puzhi Future will supply 50 humanoid robots to a smart manufacturing company, with a contract value of approximately 28.25 million yuan.

6. The Beijing Stock Exchange has officially accepted the IPO application from Shenyang Science Instrument Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The company plans to raise 852.2 million yuan to invest in high-end semiconductor equipment and other projects.
